Description:
G.D. Vajra Langhe Nebbiolo DOC is crafted from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in Piedmont’s Langhe region, specifically in high-elevation vineyards across Barolo, Novello, and Sinio. The fruit is hand-harvested from younger vines (7–25 years old) during early morning hours to preserve freshness, then undergoes gentle maceration and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Aged for 8–14 months primarily in stainless steel tanks, with a small portion in neutral Slavonian oak casks. The vineyards’ clay-limestone soils and alpine-influenced climate contribute to its vibrant acidity and mineral complexity.
 
Tasting notes:
Aromas of violets, dried roses, and red berries (cherry, raspberry) lead to a palate of sour cherry, cranberry, and pomegranate, framed by bright acidity and silky tannins. Subtle notes of lavender, mint, and chalky minerality linger on a fresh, persistent finish.

Pair with tajarin al ragù (Piedmont’s egg-yolk pasta with meat sauce), roasted game, or aged cheeses like Castelmagno.
